One Health Approach and Zoonotic Diseases
The One Health approach is a collaborative strategy that recognizes the strong connection between human health, animal health, and environmental health. Many infectious diseases affecting humans originate from animals, making zoonotic diseases a major global health concern. Factors such as climate change, deforestation, wildlife trade, and increased human-animal interaction contribute to the emergence and spread of zoonotic infections. The One Health framework promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among medical professionals, veterinarians, environmental scientists, and public health experts to improve disease prevention, surveillance, and outbreak response worldwide.
