Sensory Processing & Interventions

Sensory processing differences are among the most distinctive characteristics of autism spectrum disorder, influencing behavior, learning, and daily functioning. This session explores the neurobiological and behavioral aspects of sensory integration, including hypersensitivity and hyposensitivity to sound, touch, movement, and visual stimuli. Experts will share practical and research-based interventions aimed at improving sensory modulation, adaptive responses, and participation in daily activities. Special emphasis will be given to occupational therapy techniques, sensory-friendly environments, and the use of assistive technology in sensory regulation.

Sub-tracks:

  • Neural Mechanisms of Sensory Processing
  • Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration
  • Designing Sensory-Friendly Environments
