Respiratory tract infections

Respiratory tract infections

Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are a group of infections that affect the respiratory system, which includes the organs and tissues involved in breathing. Typically caused by viruses, bacteria, or fungi, RTIs manifest with symptoms like coughing, sneezing, nasal congestion, and difficulty breathing. Prevention and management of respiratory tract infections often involve good hygiene practices, vaccination (such as the flu vaccine), and, in some cases, antiviral or antibiotic medications.
