Title : Bridging Mind, Brain, and Society

Abstract:

The theme “Bridging Mind, Brain, and Society” highlights the urgent need to integrate mental health and criminology into a unified framework of scientific study and social reform. The human brain and mind, shaped by biology and personal experiences, are also influenced by societal structures that determine resilience or vulnerability. Mental health challenges such as trauma, addiction, and lack of appropriate care often intersect with criminological issues, perpetuating cycles of crime, stigma, and exclusion.

Interdisciplinary collaboration across neuroscience, psychology, and criminology offers transformative potential. Together, these fields can inform trauma‑informed policies, evidence‑based rehabilitation programs, and preventive interventions that address root causes rather than symptoms. Such integration reimagines justice systems to prioritize healing over punishment, reduce stigma, and empower communities to build resilience and inclusion.

Beyond academic research, this vision calls for systemic reform in law, healthcare, and social policy. It emphasizes that science must be applied with compassion, fairness, and equity to create sustainable change. Bridging mind, brain, and society thus becomes a foundation for healthier communities—where dignity, accountability, and collective responsibility drive progress.
