Giulia Pierucci is a Clinical Psychologist and PhD Student in Psychogeriatrics. Her research focuses on the psychological and emotional well-being of older adults, with particular interest in the role of AnimalAssisted Interventions in promoting quality of life and healthy ageing. Her work investigates the impact of human–animal interaction on emotional, behavioural, and psychosocial outcomes in older individuals, particularly those living with dementia. She is also interested in developing objective methods to assess emotional responses to better understand the mechanisms underlying the benefits of AAIs and to support evidence-based, person-centred interventions in geriatric care.
