Abstract:

With LLMs and AI/ML evolving at record speed, the challenge is no longer access to algorithms, but the ability to integrate them into scalable, domain-specific, human-centered workflows. This paper presents two applied AI solutions built for high-volume, high-accuracy use cases in India. In the pharmaceutical sector, we developed a computer vision pipeline for a global biopharma major to detect and localize liquid–liquid separation in vials. The system used >4,000 curated images for training, incorporated state-of-the-art deep learning models for meniscus/interface detection, and geometric methods for volume estimation. Deployed via REST APIs on AWS, the pipeline supports boundary detection, optional volumetrics, and easy integration into laboratory systems, reducing manual review cycles and human error. In the food-tech domain, we engineered an intelligent document processing system for large-scale menu digitization. The architecture combined advanced OCR, a configurable rule engine, and hybrid LLM/SLM models for contextual menu parsing. Human-in-the-loop validation ensured >99% accuracy across >10,000 potential error points per menu, while increasing agent productivity by 50%. The modular, API-first design supports enterprise integration (e.g., SAP) and cloud-agnostic deployment. These implementations highlight the engineering challenge and opportunity in designing AI/ML systems that maintain process integrity while enhancing human efficiency. Our results confirm that humanized AI architectures—combining adaptive models, rule persistence, and domain expertise—can deliver measurable gains across industries as different as pharma and food-tech.
