Pediatric Vaccines

Today, children get vaccines that protect them from more than a dozen diseases such as measles, polio, tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). Most of those diseases are now at their lowest levels in history, because of years of immunization. Children must get a minimum of some vaccines before they'll attend school.

  • Chickenpox (varicella) vaccine
  • Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccine (DTaP)
  • Hepatitis A vaccine (HepA)
  • Hepatitis B vaccine (HepB)
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
