Advanced corneal science is rapidly evolving through innovative approaches aimed at restoring, repairing, and replacing damaged corneal tissue. Emerging regenerative strategies include cell-based therapies, tissue engineering, biomaterials, and bioengineered corneal constructs designed to improve structural and functional recovery. Keratoprosthetic technologies are also providing alternative options for patients with severe corneal disease who may have limited conventional treatment options. Current research focuses on biocompatibility, tissue integration, immune response, infection prevention, optical performance, and long-term clinical outcomes. This session will explore emerging technologies and translational advances in corneal regeneration, artificial corneas, and ocular-surface restoration, bringing together clinical researchers, scientists, and innovators working toward improved visual outcomes.
