Ocular infections remain significant causes of inflammation, tissue damage, and visual impairment, affecting the cornea, conjunctiva, uvea, retina, and other ocular structures. This field encompasses viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections, as well as emerging infectious threats and antimicrobial resistance. Advances in molecular diagnostics, imaging, microbiology, and targeted therapies are improving the identification and management of infectious eye diseases. Research is increasingly focused on understanding infection mechanisms, host–pathogen interactions, treatment resistance, and preventive strategies. This session will provide a comprehensive forum for discussing emerging developments in the biology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of ocular infections.
