Modern ophthalmic pharmacology is rapidly evolving toward targeted, sustained, and personalized therapeutic approaches designed to improve treatment efficacy and patient outcomes. Current research is exploring novel molecular targets, biologic therapies, advanced drug-delivery systems, and long-acting formulations for a wide range of ocular diseases. Innovative delivery technologies, including sustained-release implants, nanoparticles, and targeted ocular delivery platforms, may help reduce treatment frequency and improve adherence. Artificial intelligence and data-driven approaches are also contributing to drug discovery, therapeutic development, and prediction of treatment responses. This session will provide a platform for discussing emerging pharmacological strategies, innovative drug-delivery technologies, clinical research, and the translation of novel therapies from laboratory discovery to patient care.
