Neuro-ophthalmology explores the complex relationship between the visual system, optic nerve, brain, and neurological disorders, while visual neuroscience examines how neural pathways process, integrate, and interpret visual information. Current research spans optic neuropathies, neurodegenerative diseases, visual processing, eye–brain interactions, and disorders affecting visual function. Advances in neuroimaging, ocular imaging, electrophysiology, artificial intelligence, and computational neuroscience are creating new opportunities for earlier diagnosis and deeper understanding of visual disorders. This session will bring together clinicians, researchers, and vision scientists to discuss emerging discoveries and innovative approaches connecting clinical neuro-ophthalmology with fundamental visual neuroscience.
