Myopia has emerged as a major global vision challenge, with growing research focused on understanding its development, preventing onset, and controlling progression across different age groups. Current approaches include optical interventions, pharmacological treatments, behavioral and environmental strategies, and combination therapies designed to slow myopic progression. High myopia can increase the risk of retinal, macular, and optic-nerve complications, highlighting the importance of early detection, appropriate intervention, and long-term monitoring. Ongoing research is also examining treatment adherence, age-specific management, individual risk factors, accessibility, and long-term clinical outcomes. This session will explore emerging evidence, innovative approaches, and future strategies for effective myopia prevention and management across diverse populations.
