Dry eye disease is a multifactorial ocular-surface disorder involving complex interactions among the tear film, cornea, conjunctiva, meibomian glands, ocular nerves, immune mechanisms, and environmental factors. Current research is expanding our understanding of inflammation, neurosensory abnormalities, tear-film instability, and ocular-surface homeostasis. Advances in diagnostic technologies are enabling more detailed assessment of tear-film quality, corneal sensitivity, meibomian gland function, and ocular-surface biomarkers. Emerging therapeutic approaches include anti-inflammatory treatments, tear-film restoration, regenerative therapies, targeted biologics, and personalized management strategies. This session will provide a platform for discussing emerging research, diagnostic innovations, and therapeutic developments shaping the future of dry eye and ocular-surface disease.
