Mahin Khatami

Biography:
Dr. Mahin Khatami, originally from Tehran, Iran,
moved to the USA in 1969. She holds advanced degrees in Biochemistry and
Molecular Biology from SUNY Buffalo and the University of Pennsylvania. She
served as faculty at the Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania, and
later as a Program Director at the National Cancer Institute (NIH). Dr. Khatami
is recognized for her significant contributions to research on inflammation,
cancer, and ocular diseases. Her pioneering work established an early link
between inflammation and tumor development. She has published extensively and
played a key role in developing cancer biomarker standards and large clinical
research initiatives.
