Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics

The name "orthodontics" may be broken down into two Greek words: "orthos" (straight or correct) and "dontics" (teeth). The practise of correcting crooked teeth or malocclusions is known as orthodontics. Dentists that specialise in dental medicine will make it easier to address aberrant tooth, jaw, and facial placement. While dental medicine focuses on tooth mobility, dentofacial orthopaedics includes advise on facial growth and development, which occurs throughout the majority of a child's life. As a result, children and adolescents are often the best candidates for dentofacial orthopaedic therapy.
Dentofacial medical science is one of the many areas in which a medical practitioner would focus on correcting any jaw and tooth abnormalities.
