Biography:

Maria Gnarra Buethe, MD, PhD, is a double board-certified dermatologist and pediatric dermatologist, and a physician-scientist dedicated to advancing care for children with complex skin disease. She serves as Division Chief of Dermatology at Rady Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Director of Pediatric Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine, where she is also Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Associate Program Director for the dermatology residency program.

Dr. Buethe’s clinical and research interests span pediatric inflammatory skin disease, vascular anomalies, genodermatoses, procedural pediatric dermatology, and emerging targeted therapies. She completed international training in Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States, including a PhD focused on the cellular and molecular basis and treatment of pediatric vascular anomalies. Her work has been recognized with numerous national and international awards, and she has authored peer-reviewed publications across pediatric dermatology, vascular anomalies, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and rare diseases.
