Michael B. Yaffe, an accomplished American scientist, professor, and retired U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps Colonel, presently holds the position of David H. Koch Professor of Biology & Biological Engineering at MIT and serves as a trauma surgeon at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Notably, in 2016, he was honored with the Bronze Star Medal by the United States Army for his dedicated service as a trauma surgeon during active duty in Afghanistan. Dr. Yaffe has also played a crucial role in treating numerous victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
