Abstract:

Recent advances in artificial intelligence particularly multimodal and large language models—are transforming both healthcare and industrial systems. However, moving from high-performing models to real-world impact requires addressing challenges related to trust, scalability, data integrity, and ethical deployment. This talk explores how multimodal AI systems can be successfully designed, evaluated, and deployed in production environments, with a focus on healthcare applications such as clinical decision support, remote monitoring, and intelligent human–machine interfaces. Drawing from real-world industry experience, the presentation highlights practical strategies for integrating vision, language, and sensor data, ensuring robustness across diverse populations, and aligning AI systems with regulatory and ethical expectations. The session will also discuss emerging trends in AI governance, responsible model evaluation, and cross-industry lessons that can accelerate safe and effective AI adoption. Attendees will gain insights into bridging cutting-edge AI research with scalable, trustworthy solutions that deliver measurable impact in healthcare and beyond.

Biography:

Jahnavi Kachhia is the Global Product Owner, AI & ML at Abbott, leading large-scale AI initiatives for the FreeStyle Libre platform to enhance clinical decision-making. Previously at Meta’s Reality Labs, she advanced AR/VR innovation and LLM-based intelligent systems. An active leader in the AI research community, she serves on the Program Committees of IJCAI 2025/2026 and PAKDD 2026 and reviews for top-tier venues including AAAI, IJCNN, IEEE conferences, MIDL, ECIS, and HRI. Her peer-reviewed publications in IEEE Xplore and Hindawi focus on radar signal processing, deep learning, and applied AI systems. Passionate about AI in healthcare, she bridges cutting-edge research with real-world impact through trustworthy, inclusive, and data-driven innovation.
