Lulu Wang is a Full Professor at ReykjavÃk University, Iceland, and a Professor Extraordinarius at the University of South Africa. She also holds visiting professor and collaborator positions with the Mayo Clinic, USA. Her research interests include electromagnetic sensing and imaging, artificial intelligence in healthcare, medical imaging, and medical device innovation. She has led the development of several pioneering technologies, including the world’s first 144-channel holographic microwave imaging system for early breast cancer detection, a holographic electromagnetic induction imaging system for stroke diagnostics, and diagnostic and therapeutic devices for respiratory diseases. She has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications, three books, seven edited books, and seven book chapters, and holds 45 granted patents, many of which have been commercialized. She has delivered more than 40 invited talks at international conferences and has served as an editor and reviewer for more than 50 journals, books, and conferences. Her honors include election as a Fellow of ASME, full membership in Sigma Xi, and professional membership in the Royal Society of New Zealand. Since 2021, she has been consistently ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide by Stanford University and Elsevier, and in 2025, she was also ranked among the career-long top 2% worldwide.
