Rania Aly Hassan is a distinguished executive with more than three decades of progressive leadership experience in the pharmaceutical and biological sectors. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Biovac Egypt for Drugs, Serums, and Vaccines, Ms. Hassan has consistently demonstrated exceptional capability in strategic management, regulatory compliance, and international business development.
Ms. Hassan holds an Executive Master of Business Administration in Pharmaceuticals from L’École Supérieure de Commerce de Rennes, in collaboration with the Arab Academy Graduate School of Business, and a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Ain Shams University, where her research focused on gene cloning for the Hepatitis B surface antigen.
Throughout her career, Ms. Hassan has played a pivotal role in national public health initiatives, including leading the first international tender for Hepatitis B eradication in Egypt and ensuring the country’s polio-free status through the sustained procurement and distribution of vaccines. Her leadership was instrumental in the transformation of Vacsera into a state-owned holding company, where she contributed extensively to corporate restructuring, international partnerships, and technology transfer initiatives.
In her current role, she oversees all regulatory, procurement, and operational activities at Biovac Egypt, ensuring alignment with both national regulations and international standards. Fluent in Arabic and English, with working proficiency in French, Ms. Hassan brings a strong global perspective and a commitment to advancing healthcare innovation, vaccine localization, and supply chain resilience across the region.
