Title : Compound Semiconductors and VCSEL Chips Technology and Applications

Abstract:

Compound semiconductors have emerged as pivotal materials in the advancement of high-performance optoelectronic devices, offering superior electron mobility, direct bandgap properties, and high thermal stability. Among their most impactful applications is the development of Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELs), which leverage these materials to deliver efficient, compact, and high-speed optical solutions. This paper explores the underlying technologies of compound semiconductors and VCSEL chips, detailing their fabrication processes, performance characteristics, and integration into modern systems. Key applications in data communications, sensing, consumer electronics, and emerging fields such as LiDAR and quantum photonics are examined, highlighting the transformative potential of these technologies in shaping next-generation devices, This paper is a comprehensive review of compound semiconductor market. The paper will focus on the growth and trends of the key end-use applications including LEDs, RF components, and power devices. The paper will then focus on VCSEL chip technology and application. Finally, a review of Vital Group and Microelectronics Co. capabilities will be given to offer areas where Vital can support research groups.
