Biography:

Dr. Deepak Puri is a leading cardiothoracic surgeon and currently serves as Chairman of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at Paras Health, a network of eight superspecialty hospitals across five states in India. He is also the Founder and Global Chairman of Cardiomersion, an international organization established in 2011 to promote an integrated and innovative approach to comprehensive cardiac care.

With over two decades of surgical excellence, Dr. Puri has performed more than 3,000 Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass (OPCAB) procedures, particularly in high-risk patients, including those with acute myocardial infarction, ongoing CPR following catheterization lab collapse, and ischemic heart failure with severely reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. His work has consistently demonstrated significant improvements in both immediate and long-term outcomes. In addition, he has extensive experience in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, regenerative therapies, and has performed over 600 Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) procedures for complex thoracic conditions, further advancing patient recovery and cost-effective care.

Dr. Puri has authored 87 publications in national and international journals and contributed a chapter to a medical textbook. He has delivered over 125 invited lectures globally, organized more than 200 workshops, and led over 20 international conferences focused on innovation, skill exchange, and emerging technologies in cardiothoracic surgery.

His previous academic and clinical roles include Assistant Professor at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, and senior leadership positions at Fortis and Max Healthcare. He has also been a visiting surgeon at renowned institutions in the USA, Germany, and China.
