Biography:

Dr. Horace Crogman is a Physics Professor at California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas, with expertise in High-Resolution Spectroscopy, Biophysics and Education Research. Amidst a number of other accomplishments, Dr. Crogman has more than 30 publications, with 10 and upward published since coming to CSUDH in 2019; among which, one book chapter entitled: Learning Unshackle. He has been awarded numerous grant funding for research and teaching. Dr. Crogman has implemented innovative teaching practices with a pioneering VR modality. He has developed the second Biophysics program in CSU system. Dr. Crogman also serves as the Educational Policy Chair for CSUDH, the director for STEM Technological Adaptive Learning Program (STALP - federally sponsored (MSEIP), and as a member of the Council of Undergraduate Research he has contributes to decisions and program development for the academic and professional growth of undergraduate students. Dr. Crogman in 2023 won CSUDH Lyle E. Gibson Distinguished Teacher Award in of his prowess in teaching innovation.  Dr. Crogman has mentored more than 20 undergraduate students in research. He was recently selected for an interview for the BPS Congressional Fellowship. 

 Dr. Crogman recently oversees construction of a unique smart classroom on CSUDH campus and work closely with facilities for construction inside his research laboratory. Aside from his professional life, Dr. Crogman is passionate with engaging in discussions about life and Social Justice, he also enjoys long-boarding and gardening. He is known among his students to be an individual they can easily relate to and befriend, who supports his students in and out of the classroom.
